11 days....Happy God Bless America Day! :)

Well, I am feeling much better today than I was last night, the only thing is I still have 3 more of these pills. You take them every other day...but, you all must have been praying, because I am feeling MUCH better. (except tomorrow I have to take another pill....ewww) Oh well. :)

Anyways, today is July 4th. The Spurrier household has been a little lazy, but it's been great. The next few months will be travel filled, so I am simply enjoying "home" while I can. Also, enjoying the opportunity to do, "whatever!" :)

INDIA:
To continue the count down to our trip, I thought I'd add this video to my blog so you can see where we will be going.

July 2008, ANM hosted eight women from this ministry here in the states. Trisha and I traveled with them as they shared their stories in churches, home meetings, and even on capital hill, to congressmen. And even now, it's just so much to swallow, to think that people treat each other so inhumaan.

In the days ahead, I will share some of the ladies stories, but thought I'd start with the hope that God is at work, God is in control, He has His people working to reached the most un-reached, broken, and abused with His Gospel.

As you watch this video, please pray for those women, men, and children who are still trapped in this terrible life...pray for those who still need to hear the saving grace message of Jesus Christ.

Trip to India begins...12 days countdown

Well friends, in 12 days I will be leading a team to India to visit Bombay Teen Challenge. This ministry is a restoration ministry. They are giving hope and freedom to many young lives who have been trapped and forced to work in the red light district in Mumbai. Over the last many years, this native ministry has done a great job in not only 'saving' these souls, but giving them new found trades to help them start a new life. They are also given an education to help them start a new life. In addition, this ministry has a vo-tech school where the girls are taught sewing, how to make leather goods, and other practical trades.

While giving them a new trade is wonderful, the most important gift they give these girls and boys is the gift of Jesus Christ. Each child, young lady, man, and women, no matter their background, is showed the Love of Christ, taught His word, and challenged to allow the Lord to work through them in mighty ways.

As you can tell, the ministry is great, but a very tough one. I ask you though as our team of five prepares for this trip, to please pray in the following way:

PRAY. BE. SEE. DO. LOVE.

• Please be praying for our team as we go to PRAY for and with the native leaders there. Pray that the Lord would give us His eyes, to show us how we can best encourage these leaders as they are tired, yet continue to serve so faithfully.
  
• Pray that we will BE the light of Christ. We must BE with Him, to BE like Him. So, pray that the Lord will help us while we are there to just BE with Him, to stay strong in Him.
  
• Pray that we may be able to handle the reality that we will SEE. Please pray that the Lord will allow us to see and come back advocates, voices, for those who have no voice.
  
• Pray that we will listen to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit to know what He has for us to DO while we are there. Pray that we will listen, heed, and obey.
• Pray that the Lord will give us HIS LOVE for each child, person we meet. As we travel, pray that the Lord will give us God moments, ordained times of bringing Him glory. Pray that our team will have His LOVE for one another.
  
• Finally, I ask that you pray for physical protection. Already, I have begun taking my typhoid medicine and have been sick all evening. The first time I went to India, things similar happened, I was fine in India, but the preventative medicine was awful. So, please pray for each lady on our team; Trisha, Oliga, Sonia, Rebecca, and myself that we will be healthy. That the medicines we are taking to prevent sickness will do their jobs, that we will have energy, that we will be able to sleep when we are able, and to have pure joy as we travel the long flights to India.

May the Lord bless you on this happy 4th. May God truly help our nation come back to it's roots, and may God show us His mercy for the choices we have made as a nation to turn away from Him.
